[Briefing] In response to the invitation by NAMA (National Automatic Merchandising Association), Mr. Alex Chen, President & CEO of Shanghai WeShow Events Ltd. attended the 2015 NAMA OneShow on April 21 - 24, 2015 at Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, USA.

As a VIP guest invited by NAMA, Mr. Alex Chen attended the opening ceremony of the 2015 NAMA OneShow, listened to the opening addresses delivered by NAMA Chairman, Peter Tullio and NAMA President & CEO, Carla Balakgie, as well as the comedy-oriented talk show performed by Jay Leno, one of the most popular talk show hosts in the United States. The opening ceremony of the 2015 NAMA OneShow was magnificent where a historical documentary about the U.S. vending industry over the past 79 years was played on the long, large screen over the big stage. And all the leaders and executives of the U.S. vending industry were present on the site. Finally, the NAMA industry awards pushed the opening ceremony up to a climax when cheers and applause of all the participants echoed throughout the scene.

Vending machines originated from the United States where the vending industry is the most developed compared with other countries in the world. According to the statistics by NAMA, the number of vending machines on location in the United States is approximately 5 million. The annual sales revenue of the vending industry reached up to USD 42 billion. The annual event of NAMA OneShow organized by NAMA is the only, highest level, largest exhibition of the vending industry in the United States. It is also one of the largest vending exhibitions around the globe, leading the mainstream trends of the worldwide vending industry.

According to the post-show statistics by NAMA, there were 263 exhibitors in all and 18 education sessions at the 2015 NAMA OneShow, attracting 4600-plus professional attendees from the vending industry worldwide. The 3-day show was only open to all the NAMA members. The admission fees for attending the 2015 NAMA OneShow are USD249 per person (NAMA member operator/ spouse/ distributor/ broker/ sustaining), USD399 per person (non-member operator/ spouse/ distributor/ broker/ sustaining), USD750 per person (NAMA member non-exhibiting manufacturer/ supplier), USD1,500 per person (non-member non-exhibiting manufacturer/ supplier). All the attendees must pay for NAMA member fees to become a current NAMA member before making their attendee's registration to attend the NAMA events.   Although the admission fees doubled that of last year, the number of attendees had not reduced but broke through the historical maximum number of attendees over the past years. In addition to the majority of attendees from the U.S., the 2015 NAMA OneShow had attracted the vending operators, buyers and professionals from the Europe and South America, among the other countries around the world.

During the Show, Mr. Alex Chen met and talked respectively with Mr. Erwin Wetzel, Director General of European Vending Association (EVA), Mr. Eric Schwaab, Managing Director of Vending Report (group leader of 23-person vending & OCS delegation from Germany), Mr. Javier Arquerons, Chairman of Spanish Vending Association (ANEDA) and Mr. Kiyoaki Takeda, Chairman of Japan Vending Machine Manufacturers Association (JVMA). What’s more, Mr. Alex Chen felt it a great honor to be invited by Ms. Carla Balakgie, Present & CEO of NAMA and Mr. Dan Mathews, Executive Vice President & COO of NAMA for a worldwide vending leaders' conference. During the conference, Alex introduced about the Chinese vending market and shared his own opinion on the risk challenges and development opportunities faced by the current vending communities. He believes that the sustainable growth of the vending industry replies on creative innovations, cost concerns and simplicity orientation in terms of machine manufacturing and vending operations. It is indispensable for this industry to experience a tremendous revolution in all its aspects if it is expected to keep its strong, active and long life development in the future. After the conference, Mr. Alex Chen communicated with Mrs. Gillian White, Board Director of UK/Ireland Automatic Vending Association (AVA), Mr. Ed Koma, President of Canadian Vending Association (ACAD), Mr. Boris Belotserkovsky, Chairman of Russian National Vending Association (RNVA) and some other senior executives from South America and took pictures together afterwards.

The next NAMA OneShow will move to McCormick Place, Lakeside Center, Chicago on April 13-15, 2016. The exhibition floor plan will occupy nearly 30,000 square meters. Up to now, more than 90% booths have been reserved. NAMA welcomes the Chinese vending and OCS machine manufacturers to exhibit at the 2016 NAMA OneShow.
